Quote of the month...

"Standing tall is a very admirable thing. There are very few stories in history of heroes who slouched to the rescue. Likewise, most individuals don't look up to people who are drooped over."

What on earth is that?

We don't use our front door much, but it has a great little entry with a closet and area big enough to store say... the toys and dress-up ... and it has a door, so if you're in a hurry and need to stash it until later, yep, that is where it goes. Well, it was getting to be so "clean" in there that door was having trouble functioning. It seems it is much easier to just shove everything on the floor in and call it good. It was driving me NUTS! So, I tackled it yesterday ... and finally finished it today. In amongst all the toys, dress-up, papers, trash and clothes I found this....
Any guesses? And just HOW long does it take for something that was once food to look like this? I wondered for a bit just what on earth it was. Then, it came to me, it WAS an apple! Yummy, huh? Anyone for apple pie?

ewwwwww ... I found one of those once. After so long, they lose their smell. Mine was rock hard.

I found it and about 14 bowls and spoons and other kitchen paraphalnia under my teenage sons bed, along with all his missing clothes and shoes. ha~

He still, 6 years later, talks about it.

I'll pass on the pie thank you :) I was reading this post with my 13 year old and she said, "Hey, that sounds like my closet!" Poor child, everyone puts everything in her closet (even the food pieces-or so she says!)

Are you sure that didn't come out of my car?!

(continuing from Crystal's comment)...or my couch?

Today when I was hunting for the remote I found not one, not two, but three poptarts smashed into the bottom of the couch. (shudder)

As for what you found, um, not a clue. :)

Tanya- I think I eould have gone searching if I'd been missing 14 bowls! holy cow, we wouldn't be able to eat with that many missing! :-) I think it will be by oldset daughter with all the stored kitchen stuff in it... as I do find a lot of cups and empty bags of popcorn in there along with 10 bath towels! Kids!
Cynthia- Poor picked on child!:-)
Crystal- I don't even want to look in the car, it may have friends in there... as I know that apples have been taken in there and well, I sure don't remember them coming out! :P
Cecily-I didn't find crushed poptarts in the couch, but there was something that made me want to hurl ... and I don't ever have a guess what it was once upon a time! ugh!

So funny! Now I have a reason for putting off my cleaning. I don't want to find anything that looks like that. :)

Oh my! I couldn't even tell what it was after you told me!
I found a few things I couldn't recognize when we were clearning our house out for the new carpet. After that, I told the kids "NO EATING IN THE BEDROOMS". So far, I have managed to stick to that rule!
