Quote of the month...

"Standing tall is a very admirable thing. There are very few stories in history of heroes who slouched to the rescue. Likewise, most individuals don't look up to people who are drooped over."

Spiderman, a Bead and a Concert

While preparing dinner last night, we heard Scott cry out and EmmaLece came running, "Scott put a bead in his nose!" Oh no, so I run to get him and lay him down on the bench to see if I can see it. Lucky for our Spiderman Scott, the bead was not far up there and I was able to get it out. That was a quick scare.

The middle school had it's first concert of the year. Shantel is in the 6th grade choir. It was hard to get a good shot.... She is in the black shirt sorta between the boys.
Cody is in the 7&8th band but I figured that I would not get a shot at all of him playing. I was right since the trumpets are in the back. So this is him heading down to the stage.

Are the band and choir performances on the same night? That would make things a bit easier. Ours were never on the same night, and about 1/3 of our choir was also in band (myself included).

Good save on the bead! I wouldn't know where to start to get the bead out!

Oh, and you read great blogs! I've enjoyed browsing through your blog roll. :)

Yes, thanksfully they are both on the same night. Well, a few months ago, EmmaLece stuffed one up her nose and Troy had to extract it with the tweesers ... this one was eaiser, just had to squeeze it above the bead and it sorta popped out like a booger (yuk).
Thanks, I think the blogs I read are fun.... found them like a found you through others. I enjoy your daily.

My little girl stuck a kernal of corn up her nose when she was 4! Every kid seems to have a nose fixation.

I'm so excited to see that I'm on your sidebar!!! Woohoo! I'm a link! :)

Wow you are one busy and crazy lady. I love the stories of the things the kids do. 8! I am from a family of 7 and it was a mad house. I have four children and 3 grandchildren and it continues to keep growing. I will be back to catch up on older entries.

I'm just waiting for the "up the nose" phase. My oldest never did it. But I'm sure the twins will they're always finding something naughty to do.

Gracie shoved a tiny google eye in her ear and it took us a few hours to figure out how to get it out (it was so traumatic though, I think I must have blocked it out because I can't for the life of me remember how we did it).

Once Jon watched the daughter of my then single friend (along with our kids) so that she and I could go to a movie. Just before we got home her daughter shoved a bead up her nose. We had to take her to instacare to get it tweezed out. Jon was a little freaked out by the whole thing since, you know, he spent almost a week with a foriegn object up his nose and knew how she felt.

As always, great pictures of the kiddies!

Crystal- I wish I knew why kids have to stuff things up their noses... my brother once put a tiny dice up his nose (my mom tells the story better than me, since I'm 10 yrs younger than him and wasn't there). And you're welcome to be on my sidebar... if you see yourself on the sidebar, then I visit regularly.
Vonda-thanks for dropping by. I have been reading up on you and your sisters. You guys are funny.
Steph- ewww apples up the nose :-( Glad you were able to get them out.
Melissa-I think that naughty and twins goes hand in hand! Good luck.
Cecily-in the ear! yikes that would be really scary! I think I would block that too! Thanks

So great he's in band, I was for a year, but piano and violin and the band were too much, so i dropped the sax. I love that you are supporting his musical efforts - btw - I have both recipes, don't worry!

Michelle- Cody plays the trumpet and the 3 oldest are also taking piano. That keeps them plenty busy. Oh good I was sure I had submitted it before.
