Quote of the month...

"Standing tall is a very admirable thing. There are very few stories in history of heroes who slouched to the rescue. Likewise, most individuals don't look up to people who are drooped over."

Our older boys....

The girls have been doing a lot of babysitting for McKelle {piano instructor and friend}. The girls are getting to be good little sitters. Learning all sorts of useful skills. Wouldn't want Cody to get left out in the skill area, and since Wednesday is our busiest day, he helped out. Here is Cody reading a story to Alyssa. He watched her until time for Young Mens {church group for boys 12-17}, so about 2 hours. Cody likes babies. He was always so good to help when the twins were little but not so much as they have gotten bigger {guess he's like his mom! -my favorite stage is the little baby stage}.Just thought I'd throw in a few shots of Cody helping when the twins were little. Little history on this first picture: The twins were sleeping in their swings {18 days old here} and I ran downstairs for a quick shower.... when I got out, standing outside the door was Cody holding both babes! Meaning that he had carried them DOWN the stairs TOGETHER! I nearly freaked! I carried them back upstairs and then gave them back for the picture.Needed to use up the last of the film before taking it to be developed, so Cody showed us how strong he was and "carried" the car seats. {They were 42 days or 1 month 12 days in this photo.}I was having a look at Robby's hair and told him I thought it was time for a trim, he said: "No, I like it like this!" This is how he looked as he told me this. Silly boy! He actually is just coming to like his hair, coming to terms with its fuzziness. He has had issues in the past and even been known to come to blows over remarks about his curly hair. So we're making progress! :-) He use to always want it shaved off.

awww...that's too cute!!
I love the twins! They are darling.
My Janie pulled baby Joshua from the swing once, but was carrying him by his head. I could have died...I freaked! It was so scary.
Have a good day!!!

That would be scary! Along those same lines ....My grandmother {when she was little} decided to bring her baby sister out to her mom because she was crying.... only she grabbed a foot and drug her out the door and down the steps to her mom who was hanging out the wash and said "Baby's cryin" ... well duh her head's just been bounced down the steps! :-) Thankfully Cody was 10 when they were born and knew how to carry a baby! Kids are a learning experience, huh?!

Cute little twins! I can't wait until Isabel is old enough to babysit for me.

How much did your twins weigh when they were born? Emma was almost 5 when the twins were born and luckily she was very mature for her age because she was such a big helper. She'd get one baby if I was busy with the other and stuff like that. Such a blessing and she was always really careful, only made me nervous a couple of times! :)

I remember carring 2 car seats. It wasn't so bad in the beginning but as they got older and heavier it got worse and worse. I guess it didn't help that I was using one "older" car seat from Emma it weighed a bunch already, so I was a little off balance carring that one and the newer light as a feather one... :)

They were SO tiny to me as my other kids were 9 lbs 8 oz, 8 lbs 10 oz, 8 lbs 7 oz {Robby was 5 lbs 12 oz -- but we didn't get him til he was 3 months old ... he only weighed 10 lbs though} the twins were S: 5 lbs 12 oz and E: 6 lbs 11 oz. EmmaLece lost about a pound in the first week... she refused to eat for about a week! Once they started to gain, there was NO stopping them! When the twins were born, Coddy was 10, Shantel was 8, Savanna was 6 and Robby was 4, so I had lots of "helpers".

That's so nice that you had so much help. My sister had twins also and she had a 10, 6, and 4 year old. Her's are identical girls and the same age as my youngest. It was a crazy year. I had my twins and then 11 months later my sister has her twins and then a month later I had Livvy. 5 kids added to our family in 13 months. Actually 6 because my brothers wife had one just after I had the twins. I guess it's either feast or famon with my fam! :)

Holly- Thanks.
Melissa- Yes, I know I was lucky to have so much help, I also had friends willing to come over at any and all hours to help and my in-laws move here just before they were born! It seems that's how it goes with kids. I have a brother that has kids the same age as all my kids except Robby and another brother with one Robby's age. Almost always there are more than one child added to some family! this year my parents got 3 so far next year is only one.

Crystal--HAHAHEHE! I always get baby hungry I absolutly LOVE babies {bigger kids not so much, I have expectations for them and babies are just babies -- loveable hugable and kissable} but my husband is forever saying NO MORE KIDS! {snip snip -- well, I have yet to concede to that though...} I guess he thinks 6 is MORE THAN PLENTY, huh?! :D

How cute that your son was just dying to get his hands on his siblings and love 'em. =) =)

Tell Robby his hair looks fabulous, dahling. =)

Cynthia- Yes I understand the too helpful!
Keeley- Robby will be excited that you like his hair. Cody is a lot like my brother-- very lovey and huggy and well, I'm not so I think that it is strange, when he gets it into his head to hug and kiss me or a sibling.... I've said it before and I'll say it again: 13 year olds are strange!
