Quote of the month...

"Standing tall is a very admirable thing. There are very few stories in history of heroes who slouched to the rescue. Likewise, most individuals don't look up to people who are drooped over."

52 Weeks of Blessings- week 49-- Forever Families

Oops, I was out of town on Sunday and Monday so I didn't get my blessings post up!
Week 49 -- forever families
We were in Spokane for the sealing of my sisters two children.  It was a long road for them.  Javin is almost 3 and Orissa is almost 1.

It was an awesome experience and made me reflect back to when we had Robby sealed to us.

Just lately when I've been reading your posts I get all teary-eyed. This was no exception. Awwwwwwwww man. It's irritating to blubber at the computer screen. =D

What beautiful, beautiful pictures.

I think congratulations is in order...but I'm Catholic and I'm not exactly sure what sealing is. (actually I'm clueless) Can you help me out?

Jaina-
We believe that families are forever and in order for them to last forever, the family must be sealed by proper priesthood authority. When you are married in the temples, you are sealed together as a family forever. If you adopt children they then need to be sealed to you. It is like the finalization of the family to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That is the main purpose of the temple to join families together for all time.
I hope that I have helped to clear things up and not make you more confused. You can also go here to ask questions. http://mormon.org

No, that makes perfect sense...I like that idea. Thanks so much for explaining it to me, what a beautiful tradition/practice, how exciting that you were there for that, I read your sister's blog as well, I can just imagine how special that day was. :)
