52 Weeks of Blessings- week 28-- Stay-cations

Swimming pools in the heat of summer are great blessings.
With gas prices rising almost daily, we opted for a different kind of "vacation".  Recently, we took a mini vacation -- as in, we rented a cabin at our local campground and  "camped" overnight.
We swam in the pool and went out to eat, all the things we would have done IF we had left town.  The kids were happy and we were happy to save a lot of money!
Today we took the kids to the public pool to cool off from our 90 degree weather.  Scott and EmmaLece got brave and ventured away from the edge!  Robby tried to pass his deep end test... he needs a little more practice.  We had a fun few hours enjoying the pool!  I keep thinking back to pioneer times and they only had rivers and lakes and the oceans to cool off in, I'm so grateful to have swimming pools!  I feel safer knowing where the bottom is!

Swimming pools...a huge blessing.
I am with you on seeing the bottom.
I use to swim in the ocean and lakes.
Now the cement pond is the only way for me!!!

Oh I love swimming pools!! Definitely a blessing worth counting. I like snorkeling too though...especially when the water is so clear you can see the bottom...I miss the Caribbean... We went to a lake up by my sister-in-law for the 4th and camped out. That's probably it for this year...sigh.
Anyway...just thought I'd drop by and tell you that YOU WON the contest. You get the free copy of Farworld! ARe you psyched or what?? I'm excited for you!!!

Sounds like a great vacation and that pool looks super refreshing. I miss swimming it's been sooo long. The suit thing gets me every time. Although I did take the kiddos to a lake because I can get away with cut-offs in a lake! The overnight part of your in town vacation is something I wouldn't have considered, but how fun!

What a great idea! Looks like lots of fun! You know, kids are easier to please than we think sometimes! Just the other day we spent a huge portion of the day doing errands with LOTS of driving time as a family. When we got home Austin said, "That was such a fun vacation!" I think kids (and all of us) just like some good quality time together!

And as far as pools go...DEFINITELY a blessing! Blessed, blessed pools....
