Foto Story Friday #46 Post Card Perfect

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

May 30, 2002
We had a beautiful little foal bright and early. We had our horses (Arabians) pastured outside of town at friends. As they were headed off to school, they noticed the birth was happening. They took a few photos and called shortly after to let us know. I was SO excited, the kids and I raced right up and took pictures. At the time, I only had a 35mm film camera (I took several photos on film, they are not scanned). I borrowed their digital camera and took these:
Peek-a-boo!
Kiss
Postcard Perfect

This is my favorite shot of the day. I know the foal looks rail skinny, but you've got to remember she is only a few hours old. She fattened right up.
We've since sold them and I do not have a recent photo of her.

Is that horse baby half way out of the mommy? Wow, you really caught the action!

I'm so glad human babies aren't born with the ability to walk!

It must be lovely to own horses. I know you have since sold the foal, but what a wonderful experience to see such a young horse.

Oh they are so beautiful. Would have loved to see the foal born.
How could you part with them?

It was hard but by the summer of '04 I had two new babies to care for and it was becoming increasingly harder to find time to devote to the horses so I sold them to a friend and they have a good life. I miss my horses and dearly enjoy a good ride, but my family comes first.
