Foto Story Friday #42 Dinner Chefs

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Dinner Chefs.
A few weeks ago, I didn't want to cook {OK, so that is a pretty much daily occurence round here! :) } my 10 1/2 yr old and my 9yr old took matters into their own hands. Savanna and Robby went to the freezer, pantry and fridge and pulled out the ingredients for shepherds pie. Then they set to work thawing, chopping , opening and cooking dinner. The following photos tell their tale of these two upcoming chefs!

It was very tasy and I didn't have to do a thing cept snap photos and supervise! Good job kids you will not starve! :)

♥ Right on!!! I can't wait for Emma to start "wanting" to cook... Okay she wants to and helps out but to do all on her own! That'll be great! I hate cooking... :)

Cool! My 9 and 10 year old are starting to like to cook too, it must be a good age to get them to learn this.

Nice! It's great when they get older and are more independent! Y'all must be teaching them well!

Oh yummy! They are welcome to cook at our house anytime!

Teach 'em young! I was appalled at the amount of kids I encountered in college who did not even know how to boil water for their Ramen!

WHat a great day! I love it when kids take matters into their own hands to solve a problem. Way to go, kiddos! And way to go, Mom, for teaching them right!

That's really fantastic. What a great job--them and you. :-) Mine would starve.

My older boys are loving the kitchen, too, and it's great to get them involved.

My 3 yr old loves to cook and I hope he continues to love it as he grows up so that I have a good assistant or at times a sub :)))

Your family is beautiful. I can't believe your littles got up and did it on their own without any cajoling from you! Want to take mine for the summer?

Raise 'em up right. I am a firm believer that kids should be able to make a few good meal for themselves!

Love this! I have to admit I've gone on strike a few times and it's nice to know that even my 7 year old can get spaghetti going by himself. All I have to do is drain the water for him. I think it's great for kids to learn to cook by themselves. And what a gourmet meal they made! Sounds delicious!
