Quote of the month...

"Standing tall is a very admirable thing. There are very few stories in history of heroes who slouched to the rescue. Likewise, most individuals don't look up to people who are drooped over."

A bunch of pix of this and that from when we were with out a computer.

First a few haircuts.... Robby had his cut because Dad requested it be a bit shorter.Before shots....After shot ... Looking sharp, Rob!Now EmmaLece got her cut because .... well, she and a friend had a haircutting party. Em's hair wasn't cut nearly as bad as the other girl's ... Guess Em has watched a few more haircuts. She cut hair all around her head! And gave the poor girl the super short bangs! It was really funny and I would have been laughing my head off, but her parents were ever SO upset! It's been weeks and they are still not well pleased ... they have a chat with her every time we get together {which is weekly} about not touching scissors! After shots. It didn't turn out too bad and looked better after a shower and all.Climbing monkeys! I turned around and this is what I saw!What happens when a set of twins meet one of these gazelle's?{they play on this at grandma's and have such a good time, but this day Scott sat down and Em gave him a push and well he got caught! } He was a pretty sad little guy!The turkeys they made at the library. Shantel had to make a ziggurat for history for extra credit ... So we all got in on the act!.... love salt dough! :)Our finished products!Cody gets his first deer! Troy let him skip school since it was an early out and the day before Thanksgiving. They headed out in the country to some friend's ranch, where Troy and his Dad got their deer this year. Cody doesn't have his own gun, so he used Troy's ... it is a little big for him, but he has shot at the range with it and done well. He shot 7 times at 7 different deer, poor kid missed 6 times! I was told that some were pretty close too. Well he sights in on this little guy and drops him with one shot! {good job!} The deer is over 200 yards away! {and he missed the 50 and 75 yarders!} Cody and our friend trudged over to gut and retrieve it. The friend told Cody that since he had to hit one at this distance he was glad he'd got the smallest one in the herd! Troy said he was SO excited for Cody! :)
See it's a buck! {it is very hard to see, but there are tiny nubs!}
When they took the deer to the meat shop {I prefer to pay and have someone who knows what their doing cut it up.... Troy's a city boy!} They gave Cody a hard time about shooting Bambi! I'm just glad he had a good time hunting with his dad {and that he got one, he got skunked last year}

I might away for a few days as my parents are coming to visit....

Carrie! I love all your pictures! First off, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Robbys hair! That is fabulous! He is too adorable!!
It's sad that Em & her little friend had a tragedy while playing "salon", but honestly it happens ALL the time! Does the other little girls parents have other kids? Was this their first haircutting mishap? I just have to remember that it's gonna happen. It's sad, but what can ya do?
Good job on scoring the Buck!! That is so cool!!
I love the pix, Thanks for getting us all caught up on your cute kids! & I'm so glad your computer is back up & running!

Kate- Thanks I have fun with Robby's hair. I tried to get him to let me leave it long on the top, but he wouldn't go for it! :)
Em's friend has two older brothers and they never were into the hair cutting, so this was their FIRST hair mishap. {to tell the truth, the gilr's hair looks WAY cute cut chort and it looks fuller.. but OH well!}
Cody will no doubt be excited that you told him good job on his BUCK! :)

We have had so many haircutting mishaps around here. I just do not understand parents who get upset about it. It is just hair! It will eventually grow back. I guess I am just not one of those people who care a lot about hair styles. Mine is all one length except for bangs. I keep it up in a ponytail or twist it with a clip. Simple and easy.

Awesome on scoring a buck!!! My dad hunts and I grew up on deer meat. I miss it :-(

Debra-Yup that is how I feel about hair too. Mine used to be long all one length, but I decided a month before the twins were born to cut it off and I've kept it shorter since.
Come on over and we'll have some deer steaks --- his buck is nice and tender! :)

I have a harder time with the hair cutting. It's not instant death or anything but I hate my kids looking like ragamuffins and that's what Eliza looked like when she chopped her hair! A chunk here and chunk there, here a chunk there a chunk everywhere a chunk, chunk! Not a pretty sight. Too bad it's not the boys that have the infatuation with cutting hair. At least you can shave their heads and it looks just fine!!! :)

yeah, I'm sorry it was their first haircutting mishap. It happens & they just needed to be "broken in". Sorry they were so upset about it! Hopefully they will figure out that it will grow back & it's really not a big deal.
have a fun Sunday! (we're losers & slept thru chruch this morning. I suck!!)

BTW, I'm sorry to see Scotts "war wounds" from the Gazelle. That is no fun!
& I just have to tell ya, I think Em looks so cute with her little "paige boy" hair cut!! Adorable kids!

Fun pictures! Congratulations to Cody. When I was about 6, I cut my friends hair. We were sitting outside. She had very long blonde hair and I remember trying to gather up the long strands and put them in the garbage to hide them, so no one would know what we did! My mom opened the front door and Dawne turned around and said, "Look at my hair! Isn't it pretty?" My mom was more upset than hers was. Her mom's reaction was that Dawne was older and should have known better! I still remember that. She had to go to the salon and get it fixed and it was as short as a boys.

Kate- I think when the girls are in high school, they will be able to laugh!:D Way to to go "resting" on Sunday! Thakns I've gotten a few compliments on her hair {makes me feel like I know what I'm doing!}
Holly- Great haircutting story! You're right, it does seem to be the girls who play salon!
Supercool- Thanks! I love Robby's hair too, it's SO fun to play with :D Email me an invite so I can come check in with ya. I'll not add ya to the blog roll, I'll just save the info.

Love the catch up pictures!

As always, the kids (hair salon day and all) are adorable.

Even though I know it's cool, (yay Cody!)the deer picture is icky. Sorry. I've never lived with a hunter. Unless you count the bottles Jon likes to hunt with his super awesome .22! Sneaky bottles.

There's a lot of news in that post! The haircuts look great! Too bad you couldn't post the other little girl's haircut, too... And what are the twins on in the climbing monkeys photos? The twins-meet-gazelle picture made me tear up - poor kiddo! And congrats to Cody for his first deer! I bet he was excited!

Carrie and Troy Keiser said...

Cecily- Sorry, I know the deer pix is icky, but we were SO excited that he GOT one... well we had to take a pix.
Amz- Thanks.
Andrea-Thanks, Ya it would have been fun to have before and after shots of her {so others could decided which looks best...}. We have this wall that is the side of the stairs {half wall in the kitchen}The one shot is from down at the bottom of the stairs. {I don't know if that helps...} Yeah Scott was pretty sad whenhe obtained the "war wounds" but he's healing now!

Busy busy you were!
My Mychigan has cut hair before too...like an inch long! She looked like a boy for a while, and she even cut her sister's hair, although not so short. She still has to be watched very closely with scissors, a couple of weeks ago in Kindergarten, she snuck some into the bathroom and took a chunk out of her bangs...what is up with that? I had a little chat with her teacher and told her to keep an eagle eye on her with the scissors. Good thing her mommy's a hairstylist, huh? Think that might be where she's getting her ideas? :S
And Robby's hair is very cute!

Carrie and Troy Keiser said...

Steph- That might have an influence on her, pretty sure tha tis what encouraged Em ... but I didn't cut much hair when Shantel was little and she sure went to town one day! I think kids just have to try it out! It all grows back and that's a good thing! :D

Oh good! I was just a bit worried that they were at the TOP of the stairs!

Great pictures. Your daughter's haircut turned out way better than my sister's when she was little.

WOW you had a lot going on while you were without a computer. Apparently haircutting parties are fun. My Grace has had one too. She was the only victim though.

I love the haircuts! I just gave my oldest daughter a drastically different style last night!

So fun to get back on here and see what is up in your life! RIght now my baby is VERY unimpressed with my blogging though, so I better go!

Carrie and Troy Keiser said...

Andrea- They are above the stairs and they could eaisly fall off and get hurt, but sometimes kids have to learn the hard way ...{they have not fallen off, yet!}
Smithfam- Yes, poor Bambi, but tastes so good! As for a salon, well maybe someday I will go back to school and then I can have one....
Candace- Thanks, I try {it helps that I took about 9 months when I was a senior of cosmetology}. Doesn't it seem like most kids - girls especially girls -- have a hair cutting party?!
Angie- With kids there is hardly a dull moment, as you know! Oh yeah, ya gotta have a salon day at least once when you're little! :)
Darla- I hope you post the new do! I'll be over to see what is new in your world soon. Thanks for taking a min to check in with me! :)
