Quote of the month...

"Standing tall is a very admirable thing. There are very few stories in history of heroes who slouched to the rescue. Likewise, most individuals don't look up to people who are drooped over."

Things Scott Said....

I just had to write all these things down ......
11-28-07
While eating lunch one day, I heard this exchange between the twins:
E) "I'm sitting next to you, Scotty, because you're my best boy."
S) smiling says "Yep!"

Later (2pm) that same day they are building with blocks and EmmaLece knocks down his castle, he says:
"Emmy, I don't like you and maybe I hate you! I NEVER like you!" Don't worry, they 'kissed and made up'!
Even later (3:52 pm) this same day Scott came running over to me and said:
"Tick tock tick tock, I need to give a hug to you! I need you to take me upstairs and get some clothes for me. I'm in my P-jammies and I need clothes! SO, you need to help me!"
It's now 4:40 pm and we finally went upstairs to get clothes he said this:
"Mom, Scott & Emmy were babies and they were crying, 'Mom, Mom, Mom!' That's true, Grandma told me. That's silly, yeah it is!"
At 8:54 pm he comes up and tells me this little gem:
"I just like all my friends. They're nice and I don't say nasty words. Yeah, I don't."
Another night recently, I was tucking them in and reading a few stories and right in the middle of the story Scott says:
"One time, we went to the store and there were trees on the concrete. We put one in the truck and took it to my house. We put it in the front room, yeah the front room! Yeah, we did!" This was last year ... oh, man now we HAVE to get a tree, cause he remembered it so clearly and I can't break his heart.....
Now, lately all we get out of EmmaLece is her tongue! She sticks it out all the time and at anyone and everyone. I personally have been trying to ignore her, but others are making a big deal out of it and, of course, she is doing it all the more! AARRGGHH!

{side note... I have changed the poems on my side bar, if any are interested...}

One of my favorite things are kidisms. I loved the Scottisms. And good luck with the tongue phase.......:)

Angie- Kids say the funniest things! I wish that people could hear and see him ... he uses such expression and his whole body "talks", It just cracks me up! {probably most kids are this way at his age... but he is much more expressive visually than EmmaLece.} :)

I think it's great all the little things they say... Eliza is our TALKER!!! She is famous for her explanations. She can seriously take 2 minutes to explain why she is doing something as boring as looked at a spot on the wall! :)

Serious-Kids are the comic relief that we sometimes miss! :)

Love the sayings! He is so cute. I love it at that age when their entore body gets in on their expressions.

Were your twins climbers? How did you handle the toddler years before they understand?

I just love the cute things little kids say; it's my very favorite thing about being a mom.

Cecily- :D
Debra- Oh yes, we have climbers! One of my old posts has a picture of EmmaLece on top of the TV! They are constantly places I wish they weren't!... like the back of the couch, on top of the dressers, in the fridge, on top of the range/oven, on the counter-tops! It is an never ending thing! Well, my only other climber has since quit... of course, she's 9! :D I think they tag team... one {Scott}distract mom while the other {EmmaLece} climbs. Sorry I can't be of more help in this department. I try to enlist the help of older kids to help me {when they are home} keep track of the little monsters .. I mean dears! Thanks for dropping by, I've been reading your blog for months.
Crystal- I agree it is about the best thing!
