Quote of the month...

"Standing tall is a very admirable thing. There are very few stories in history of heroes who slouched to the rescue. Likewise, most individuals don't look up to people who are drooped over."

foto-story Friday #20-Fall music concert

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Tuesday was the first middle school {5th - 8th} concert of the year.  Due to the pink eye running rampant through our house my trumpet player was unable to participate.  He and Robby who also was afflicted stayed home.  The rest of us headed out to enjoy an evening on song and musicians.
The line up was as follows:
6th grade choir {4 songs}
7th & 8th grade band {3 songs}
5th grade choir {4 songs}
6th grade band {3 songs}
7th & 8th grade choir {5 songs}

Can you see Savanna in the brown shirt and black pants?

Unfortunately, Savanna was standing in a bad spot relative to where we found seats .... as you see, a tall girl was in front of her.

About half-way through the 6th grade band, this sweet little boy's eyes started to get heavy and his head started to droop and next we knew, he was out like a light!  When the song was over and the crowds began clapping, Scott clapped along with them never missing a beat and still ASLEEP!  He slept through Shantel's choir performance.
Shantel was right upfront for the first song as it was an all girl song
Shantel was farther away in the full choir, but still visible.

Great pitures carrie. The girls look so pretty in their choir get ups. I didn't realize they were in choir. I love that he slept and clapped at the same time. Kids, they really are amazing!

Both of our girls were in choir and we loved the Fall concerts. They had an amazing choir director who mixed traditional, contest and contemporary music so the kids loved performing.

These events are so much more interesting, once you have a child performing in them.
Pink eye SUCKS!

Why do they always seem to put tall kids right in the way?

The little on waking up to clap is cute!

Makes me want to start singing "Memories". Sorry to hear that everyone was not healthy enough to attend. And so dear that your little guy clapped along in his sleep.

Pink eye hurts!

Sleep clapping? I've heard of sleep walking but not sleep clapping. Too cute.

I have never gotten a good concert photo. I'm jealous. Great job!

Both of the girls look pretty and ready for their musical appearances! I would be like the little guy and fall asleep while being sung to. :)
