Quote of the month...

"Standing tall is a very admirable thing. There are very few stories in history of heroes who slouched to the rescue. Likewise, most individuals don't look up to people who are drooped over."

52 Weeks of Blessings- Week 3-- warm home

This week I've been very thankful of the blessing of a nice warm home. I'm so thankful that I didn't have the privilege of being born in pioneer times, where the houses were not so well insulated and the heating was a few wood-burning stoves and blankets. I'm so thankful of the blessing of being born in these times where we have heat running through the house which is insulated against the Arctic winds. We have been enjoying below zero temperatures with the wind chill. Currently as I write this, it is -5 and with the wind -22!

We had two new inches of snow last night. I was very grateful for my heater and the fact that my van was in the garage and not outside when it was time for church this morning.

Oh wow! I can't imagine cold like that. I am from Utah, but I don't think I've ever felt wind like that. And living in Arizona, no chance! But I am also grateful to be born in these times and to have a home to protect me and my family!

I have to agree with you on this. I live in AZ and while it doesn't get very cold here, it does get very HOT and I really appreciate the A/C!

Yay for not living the life of a pioneer!

(BTW, I found you through Cara!)

I'm so thankful for a warm home, too! Especially for NOT being a pioneer.

Greatful- Thanks, that quote was given to my by my mother-in-law and I love it,
Holly-We just have that little skiff of snow {in the picture}. Our Sub is always out in the elements, since our garage isn't big enough for the beast! burrrrrrrrr, I had to start it abt 30 mins before we went to Church!
Jenifer- Here the wind is constantly blowing! I sit here in the warmth thinking I'm cold {it says it's 70 in here} and then I take a step outside andrealize that it IS warm! :)
Onehm- I've lived in Phoenix and Vegas I too have been greatful for A/C ... in fact it can get pretty warm round these parts in the summer!
Serious- :D
Angie- I'm also thankful for a warm vehicle to drive in ... not a horse-drawn sleigh or a buckboard! :)
Laurie- Yeah for heat!

I have to say, this time of year is when I love AZ. Great blessing this week. I don't think I could have done it back in the day. I would have curled up in a ball and froze.

Carrie and Troy Keiser said...

Pam- I have often thought as it gets colder and colder outside, "Why did we leave Vegas?" :)

That is why I live in AZ! Heat is a wonderful thing! We ARE lucky to live in a time that we didn't have to bear the many things that the people of our past have.
