But to tell this tale, we have to go back to the beginning..... In the beginning there was... oh wait, that is a little too far back..... In 2000 we were living in Las Vegas, our friends asked us {that is: Troy, Shantel and I} to be in their wedding.
Following are a few shots of the wedding {sorry about the quality of the photos as I took pictures of the pictures, thus I making them photos I took! :)}
The wedding party!
The flower girl and her daddy! Aren't they cute?!
The walk down the aisle, er I mean the sidewalk.
They paid a lot of money {like took out a loan} to have the wedding at a ranch. It was a very pretty night, the food was good and we had a good time. It was fun watching all the others getting a bit tipsy. I think the waiters were imbibing too...
Because as we attempting to leave, a waiter ran out with a wrapped plate saying: "Hey wait, don't forget your plate!" Yup, he gave Troy a plate full of food. We were a little suprised, but what did we know? A few days later the groom told us a story:
Seems that as part of the wedding/catering deal, the bride and groom would have a plate of food made up for later. He was a bit miffed, OK he was pretty well ticked that they forgot to give him his plate of food! We didn't have the heart to tell him that they did in fact "make up his plate", they just gave it to the wrong "big guy"! That is the tale this plate would tell, IF this plate could tell tales!

I so never heard that part of the tale. That is totally hilarious. Great story Sis!
That's a GREAT story Carrie!! So funny! Even funnier that you didn't at least give the poor groom the plate. Heeeeee!
That is too funny! Did you ever tell the Groom you got his food?
Nope, if on the slim chance he checks in with us via this blog and happens to see this post well, then he's been told! :)
That story is so unique and hilarious! Loved it!
Perhaps you could make him up a compensatory plate of food on it and come clean?
What a funny story! I've never heard of anyone getting a plate before!
Great pics of pics.
That's funny. I'd never heard of taking a plate home.
Oh yeah, now THAT is a story alright! I love that test too, very clever.
lmao that is awesome!! I love it. So funny. Great pictures!!
That's a very great story. That made your wedding your own.
I also have posted my PSF. You can read it HERE.
Happy Friday!
That's a great story. I never once thought a plate could have such a story. Do you actually use it now?
Well,I think he has had dinner on that plate on a visit to our house. We no longer live in the same state as him. The marriage didn't last long, so he's probably OK with not having the plate now. We just keep the plate around as a conversational piece! :)
Funny. I am surprised they gave you the actual plate!
That is the funniest tale!
I see you do scrapbooking as well. I'm going to go check that out.
Thanks for stopping by mom blog!
Great story. and you still have the plate!!
Too funny! Love this tale. I feel for the groom though, I remember how hungry my own groom was after we left the reception.
Oh what a funny and cute story!!
What an awesome story! Who would have known that a dinnerplate could have such a background.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Carrie! It's contest time again on my blog. Come on over and take a peek. Another great book prize.

Very cute story!!
That is a great story. I'm sorry the groom was ticked off that night but sure does tell a great story after the fact. ;)
That is funny! Great story!
geat story!
love the way you weave a yarn!!
Happy PSF!
Well, I'd have to say that I'm glad the groom was ticked -- it adds so much to the story. Thanks for the entertainment!
What a wonderful story! :) Happy PSF!
Oh that is just too funny!
Too bad the marriage did not work out especially with A LOAN for the wedding!!!
Now THAT is hilarious.
That is priceless! What a great story though. Great PSF!
That's a pretty good one! I wish we would have received plates of food after our wedding. We were starving and ended up forking over way too much money for room service.
That's hilarious!!!! Have you guys ever told the groom the whole story? :)
Thanks for stopping by today!
That's a great story! Thanks for sharing all those pictures.
Reminds me of my wedding. My husband and I desperately wanted stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. When we finally sat down after picture taking, etc., the caterers had given away all the stuffed mushrooms! Apparently, they were sooo delicious that people asked for more, and the caterers saved none for the wedding party! Hmph!
Oops! Seems like a good little extra if the caterers could remember who the groom was!
hahaha! That is too funny. :) I would have loved if someone had made a plate for me at my reception. All I had to eat was one chocolate covered strawberry the wedding cake that was shoved in my face. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Drop in anytime!
That's so funny! What a great story. I love seemingly insignificant objects with interesting stories. :D
What a funny story! Again, you found another one that is perfect for PSF!!!
THat is hilarious! Every time I have been in a bridal party, I have made up a basket of food from all that was served. It seems like the bride and groom never get to enjoy the food, even the cake with all the hoopla!
Thanks for visiting my story!
That is too funny!
Too funny! You really do have some great stories and how cool is it that you have so many pictures to go with your stories?! That's awesome!
